Carrie Prejean May Sue Miss California Organization
First comes the lawyer letter. Then, comes the complaint. That’s just how it works, even for former Miss California Carrie Prejean.
Last month, Prejean’s lawyer sent a letter threatening to sue the Miss California Organization over the infamous scandal and decision to remove Prejean from her beauty queen post.
Now, Prejean’s legal team is taking it to the next level by drafting a formal complaint alleging slander, libel, public disclosure of private facts, religious discrimination, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
They haven’t filed it with the court yet, though. Typically, this means that the plaintiff is hoping the defendant will enter a quick settlement, i.e., pay up to make her shut up.
Given how public this dispute has been and how passionate both sides appear to feel about each other, it seems unlikely that this case will go away any time soon.
