Chaz Bono Says Outfest Films Inspired Transition
Chaz Bono spoke at last night’s opening night of Outfest, the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.

Taking the stage before a crowded Orpheum Theater, Chaz — the child of Cher and Sonny Bono — directly addressed the decision to transition from female to male and thanked Outfest for helping him to reach the decision. He said that watching transgender-themed films, including Hedwig and the Angry Inch as well as A Boy Named Sue, at Outfest over the years inspired him and gave him the courage to make the decision.
