As part of the ongoing Nanny Gate 2008 saga, former nanny Laura Boyce requested dismissal of the Lowes’ breach of contract lawsuit, arguing that the confidentiality agreement she signed violated her right to free speech.  A Los Angeles judge disagrees and denied Boyce’s motion.

This is good news for celebs who want their personal lives to remain private.  However, it does not mean that celebs can expose their private parts to their nannies without repercussion or that all celeb confidentiality agreements are lawful.  This decision likely does not prevent nannies or other employees from reporting or suing over unlawful behavior.  It just means that they can’t go around town talking about it.
