Popsquire Beat: This Week In Pop Culture And Law
The Popsquire Beat presents this week’s most entertaining collisions between pop culture and law.
1. Beyonce may have the best video and lawsuit of all time.
Abercrombie & Fitch filed a trademark infringement lawsuit in Ohio this week to stop Beyonce from launching a fragrance under her alter ego, Sasha Fierce. The clothing company alleges that it launched its fragrance, “Fierce,” in 2002 and that Beyonce was aware of it. The judge’s anticipated question: Who put a trademark on it?
2. While Tyra Banks is revealing her real hair, a former America’s Next Top Model contestant may be in real trouble.
Bre Scullark was arrested this week for disorderly conduct in a Starbucks. A woman claims that Bre took her laptop and refused to return it, so police took the former ANTM contestant into custody. Her anticipated defense: “Like a model would need a laptop.”
3. And, for this week’s video collision between pop culture and law, watch Chris Brown perform court-ordered hard labor for committing felony assault against Rihanna.
Have a great Emmy Awards weekend. Remember, please don’t drink and drive.
