Michael Jackson: This Week In Pop Culture And Law
This proved to be yet another week filled with entertaining and controversial collisions between pop culture and law.
We focus primarily on the story of a man named Michael Jackson, who was bringing up three very lovely kids. More than two weeks after his sad and untimely death, Debbie Rowe, who is listed as the biological mother on the birth certificates of the eldest two children, finally enters the legal battle over their future.
Although Debbie won’t confirm whether she wants to raise the kids, she is threatening legal action against the NY Post and filing lawsuits against anyone who says she doesn’t. For some inexplicable reason, she continues working with a non-family law attorney. Go figure.
Meanwhile, La Toya adamantly believes Michael was murdered, but the LAPD won’t confirm they are conducting a homicide investigation. While we await next steps in the investigation and guardianship battle, the world — including Popsquire — began recording tribute moonwalk videos.
For those of you who’d rather not moonwalk anymore, you might want to check pawn shops for jewelry stolen from Orlando Bloom, Monica Belluci, and Paris Hilton. Or, if you’d prefer, maybe you’ll find Amy Winehouse’s wedding ring there instead.
Either way, rest assured that your weekend will be safe from a naked Richard Hatch wandering around your neighborhood or on the set of the 10th anniversary of Survivor. You can thank a Rhode Island judge for that one.
Have a good weekend. Remember, please don’t drink and drive.
