Rowe And Jackson Change Court Hearing Date
It looks like Debbie Rowe is getting involved in the future of Michael Jackson’s kids.
The Los Angeles Superior Court just released this statement:
At the request of Katherine Jackson and Deborah Rowe, Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr. Et Al guardianship hearing originally scheduled for Monday, July 13, 2009 will be continued to July 20, 2009, at 8:30 a.m. in Department 5 of the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.
All prior orders remain in full force and effect, with Katherine Jackson as temporary guardian of the children. A conference call in this matter is scheduled for July 17, 2009 at 3 p.m.
Given that the postponement is mutual, it could mean that Katherine and Debbie are working together on a resolution. A legal rep for Jackson says:
“We are pleased that the child custody hearing has been continued over until July 20th to further our progress and allow us to privately and amicably resolve this most important matter in a dignified manner for the benefit of the children first and all involved.”
Even if they work out a private deal, the court still needs to approve it and has the power to reject it. The court must be guided by what is in the best interests of the children.
