  • Michael Jackson: Investigation Goes Homicide?

La Toya Jackson may have been on to something after all.  Or not.

Within days of La Toya’s tabloid murder accusations, TMZ reports that the LAPD is treating Michael Jackson’s death as a homicide and focusing on Dr. Conrad Murray.  Evidence reportedly includes Propofol as the primary cause of MJ’s death and “plenty of powerful evidence” linking Dr. Murray as the person who administered the drug.

The LAPD, however, says: “Nothing has changed.  It’s still an ongoing investigation.”  Of course, that doesn’t rule out that the investigation is focused on homicide and/or Dr. Murray.

Either way, prosecuting doctors is rare and will require solid proof that Dr. Murray purposely, knowingly, recklessly, or negligently caused MJ’s death.  Unless Dr. Murray intended to kill MJ, however, this likely is a manslaughter case, at best.  Sorry, La Toya.
