Jerry Brown Gets Involved With Michael Jackson

Attorney General Jerry Brown’s office is joining the DEA and LAPD in the probe, which is focused in part on the prescription drugs found at MJ’s home. With Brown’s help, they are using CURES (Controlled substance, Utilization Review and Evaluation System), a system that contains the name of every doctor that prescribes controlled medicine, the person for whom the drug is prescribed, the quantity and the date.
Brown’s involvement is not surprising. This is the same system Brown used to investigate Anna Nicole Smith’s death, which resulted in felony charges against Howard K. Stern and two of Anna Nicole’s former doctors. And, while discussing that case, Brown stated: “I believe that the abuse of legal drugs is a very serious and growing problem in our state.”
It’s a worthy fight, Mr Brown. Keep it up.
