  • Court Stays Involved In Michael Jackson’s Will

This morning’s court hearing on Michael Jackson’s will is over, but the legal process certainly is not.

Another hearing is on calendar for August 3, but a few things were set in motion today:

    1. John Branca and John McClain will act as administrators of the will, at least until the next hearing.
    2. They must keep Katherine Jackson and her attorneys informed of their activity.
    3. Katherine’s attorneys stated that they do not intend to contest the 2002 will.
    4. The court invited Katherine’s attorneys to object to any actions taken by the administrators.
    5. All decisions and actions involving the will — including marshaling the assets, attorney’s fees, and settling claims — will require court approval.

Attorneys for all parties indicated at the press conference following the hearing that they intend to cooperate with each other.  Yeah, right.  That’s not exactly what attorneys do best.  Popsquire will keep you posted!

PS: Another will was lodged with the court today; however, it’s dated prior to the 2002 will and won’t effect how MJ’s trust is administered.
