Gosselin Judge: No Decision On Bank Withdrawals
It’s time for a new rhyme to describe today’s court date: Jon & Kate, Plus Stale Mate.
After appearing in court for a brief hearing today, Jon and Kate Gosselin did not resolve any of the outstanding issues surrounding their divorce or, specifically, money they both claim the other inappropriately withdrew from a joint account.
Instead, the judge referred them to an arbitrator and urged them to keep the case “private” and “amicable.”
Not surprising. Judges often find ways not to make decisions, especially if the parties already have agreed to work with an arbitrator.
However, if more than $200,000 was withdrawn inappropriately from a joint account, someone needs to make a decision about this very soon!
UPDATE: According to TMZ, the judge has ordered Jon to return $180,000 by the next court date, October 26. Kate says, “As difficult as this has been for me, I am pleased that the Court has ruled fairly on behalf of myself and my children. Now that this matter has been ruled on, I look forward to returning to private arbitration, as we have agreed to do, to resolve any remaining issues.”
