This weekend’s Grammy Awards marks approximately one year since Chris Brown’s felony assault on Rihanna. While Brown serves five years probation and performs court-ordered hard labor, Rihanna will be on Ellen this Monday. And, she’s all smiles — a survivor and an inspiration.
In part two of the GMA interview, Rihanna says she and Chris Brown were best friends who fell in love. Then, she caught him in a text message lie, which triggered the felony assault.
PS: Why is no one asking if drugs or alcohol were involved?
In a powerful GMA interview today, Rihanna says the infamous Chris Brown incident was a big wake up call. Not only did she realize she had to leave him for her fans, but she gives this strong advice: “Don’t react off of love. F love.”
Poor Britney. She gets dragged into everything, even the Chris Brown / Rihanna drama.

Rihannais opening up for the first time since the infamous Chris Brown domestic violence incident and invoking Britney’s name. Rihanna tells Glamour magazine: “I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day.”
Meanwhile, Rihanna tells Diane Sawyer in an exclusive interview that Chris was her “first big love” while sadly warning that domestic violence “can happen to anyone.”
The interview will air Thursday and Friday mornings on Good Morning America and Friday night on 20/20.

The LA Times reports that the LAPD has placed two female officers on a leave of absence as part of an ongoing investigation into who leaked the infamous Rihanna photo to TMZ.
A lawyer for one of the officers insists that his client had done nothing illegal, stating that his “client did not do anything for financial gain. She did not sell the photo.”
State law makes it a misdemeanor for officers to profit by leaking confidential reports or images, so if the officer didn’t make any money, the attorney may be right.
But, that doesn’t mean leaking the photo was right! Shame on the person who leaked that photo. It could seriously deter abused woman from coming forward out of fear that their bruised faces could be exposed to the world.
While Chris Brown is shooting his new music video, Rihanna just debuted this one for “Run This Town.” She looks like a woman out for revenge in this video. Good for her!
Rihanna is just like everyone else in LA — struggling for good parking.

Her neighbor, Christian Moeller, is suing for invasion of privacy, nuisance, fraud and trespass, and it’s all over a parking dispute. Moeller and Stephen Yacobian (the owner of the house Rihanna rents) previously agreed to an easement that allowed access to a small part of Moeller’s yard for purposes of getting to a small parking lot on Yacobian’s property.
Now, Moeller is asking a judge to revoke that agreement and pay damages. He claims that Rihanna and her visitors are driving through part of his yard not allowed by the easement to get to her parking area or are leaving their cars on his lot for too long.
Solution: Instead of crowding the courts with another lawsuit, Moeller should just hire a valet parking service and have them charge Rihanna and her guests. They won’t notice the difference. It’s LA — valet parking at home is normal.
LA prosecutors served Rihanna today with a subpoena to testify at Chris Brown’s June 22 preliminary hearing.

Rihanna’s attorney, Donald Etra, says Rihanna “will be there and will answer all questions truthfully.” If Rihanna testifies that Chris Brown caused her injuries, then there is no doubt the judge will refer the case for a jury trial. Mark Geragos better work out a plea bargain for Chris Brown before then!
PS: Let’s hope Rihanna rocks this hair-do in court!
Chris Brown recently said he “ain’t a monster,” but Rihanna may say something different in court.

Two results emerged from this morning’s court hearing in Brown’s criminal case: (1) the judge denied Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, access to police records concerning the leak of the infamous Rihanna photo; and (2) Rihanna’s lawyer, Donald Etra, said prosecutors intend to subpoena her to appear at Brown’s June 22 preliminary hearing and that she “absolutely will comply.”
This definitely gives the prosecutors an upper hand going into the preliminary hearing. Technically, proscecutors may not be able to force Rihanna to testify, so her cooperation could be crucial either to moving forward or pressuring Brown to enter into a plea bargain that prosecutors like.
One week before Chris Brown’s preliminary hearing is expected to take place, Rihanna shows no evidence of any residual effects from her February battery. Translation: she’s lookin’ good in this Kanye West video!
Although Rihanna likely will not be by Chris Brown’s side at tomorrow’s hearing, the Chicago’s Sun Times reports that the controversial couple has re-established their relationship and may be living together.

Brown has not reportedly “officially” moved in with Rihanna, but they’ve had “quite a few nights together.” The paper’s source said that Rihanna is not afraid of the potential public backlash, saying, “Rihanna still wants him and has told all of us to ‘get over yourselves. … I’m with him, so deal with it.’”
Unfortunately, it’s Rihanna who has to deal with it. Unless Brown gets a lot of help, the Feb. 8 attack may happen again and again and again. So sad.
