  • Muslims Barred From Black Eyed Peas Concert

    August 27th, 2009

Today’s collision between pop culture and Muslim law is presented by the Black Eyed Peas.

    Black Eyed Peas[Bauer Griffin Online]

Malaysia’s government has barred Muslims from a Peas concert next month because it’s organized by Guinness (the beer, not the book of world records).  Although the Peas performed in Malaysia in 2007 without incident, the show’s official website now says that “the party is only open to non-Muslims aged 18 years and above.”

This is riddled with so much hypocrisy.  Why not use a wristband system to ensure Muslims don’t drink?  Or, if it’s simply the idea of doing business with a beer company, then why have the concert at all?  And, moreover, are there Muslim employees who will be getting paid by the concert?

This is just one reason why government and religion should be separate.

Kirk Cameron Wants To Save Popsquire

    September 15th, 2008

Popsquire interviewed Kirk Cameron today about his upcoming Christian-themed film, “Fireproof.”  At the end of the interview, Kirk handed Popsquire this fake $1 million bill.

Although Popsquire promised to give it to charity like Brad and Angelina, a closer look at the bill required a blog post!  The text wrapping around the faux currency is both blatant self-promotion and proselytization.  Apparently, the new season of his radio show, “The Way of the Master,” starts today, and it’s time for Popsquire to be saved from Hell.

While you consider Popsquire’s fate, check out the text of the $1 million bill below:

“The million-dollar question: Will you got to Heaven?  Here’s a quick test.  Have you ever told a lie, stolen anything, or used God’s name in vain?  Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”  Have you looked with lust?  Will you be guilty on Judgment Day?  If you have done those things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer-at-heart.  The Bible warns that if you are guilty you will end up in Hell.  That’s not God’s will.  He sent His Son to suffer and die on the cross for you.  Jesus took your punishment upon Himself: “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  Then He rose from the dead and defeated death.  Please, repent (turn from sin) today and trust in Jesus, and God will grand you everlasting life.  Then read your Bible daily and obey it.  www.livingwaters.com”
