Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have filed a $5 million lawsuit against the makers of a baby carriage. J-Lo previously sued Ojani to prevent publication of a tell-all book, in violation of a 2005 confidentiality agreement the pair entered. In short, Jennifer and the judge are saying to Ojani: “Let’s not Get Loud!”
In June 2008, a flight attendant filed a $5 million lawsuit, claiming that J-Lo’s dog chomped her leg on a plane trip two years ago. Now, the plaintiff’s attorney tells the NY Daily News that Marc Anthony is being added as a defendant to the New York federal court lawsuit because he may be the dog’s registered owner.
Popsquire’s perspective…
New York courts have long recognized a cause of action that imposes strict liability on the owner for injuries inflicted by his dog. If the victim can establish that the dog is vicious and that the owner knew or should have known about such vicious propensities, then the owner will be responsible for monetary damages.

Shortly after becoming a mom, J-Lo ironically has shut down her Los Angeles restaurant, Madres. Popsquire never got around to eating there, so instead of worrying about calories, it’s time to worry about employees.
Whenever a business shuts down, the law kicks in! For example:
Advance notice often must be given to employees, depending on the size of the business.
Final paychecks must be cut and paid to employees promptly.
Employees generally will have the right to apply for unemployment payments.
COBRA may cover extension of health insurance in some cases.
And remember, although “Love Don’t Cost A Thing,” running a business does!
