On today’s episode of The View, Patrick Dempsey addressed incessant rumors about Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight leaving Grey’s Anatomy.
And, of course, he blamed the lawyers! Patrick says no one is leaving because of their contracts:
“We have contracts. We’re not going anywhere for two years…We all signed the same contracts…As far as I know, nobody is leaving the show. I think we should all be quite grateful that we have jobs.”
Note to Patrick: Contracts are re-negotiated all the time. Get a new lawyer. S/he might be able to get you out of your contract, too. Everything is negotiable. Everything.

Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley got hitched yesterday, according to CelebTV.com. Congrats, Izzie! Marriage is not just a commitment about love, however. It comes with approximately 300 legal rights and obligations, including:
- The right not to testify in court against each other.
- The right to make medical decisions on each other’s behalf.
- The right seek wrongful death compensation.
- The right to inherit money in the absence of a will.
- The right to worker’s compensation death benefits.
