Set your DVR now. Paula Abdul is donning a belted and bedazzled robe while she dishes out courtroom justice on Sunday’s episode of Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime.
Paula will play “Your Honor Paula Abdul” and share gems of (scripted) wisdom with a woman who sues a clothing manufacturer.

Following last night’s Twit-announcement that she is leaving American Idol, Paula Abdul is now set to guest star in two episodes of Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva.

She already filmed the first episode, which airs Sept. 13, and now has signed on to appear in a second episode on Oct. 11 as well. Josh Berman, creator of Drop Dead Diva, tells Popsquire that Paula also expressed interest in a recurring role next season.
Duh. She needs a j-o-b.
Note to Paula: Lifetime ain’t gonna pay anywhere close to American Idol money.
Like Popsquire always says, America loves a funny collision between pop culture and law. This time, the proof comes in the form of Lifetime’s successful premiere of the new legal dramedy, Drop Dead Diva.
Sunday’s debut attracted 2.2 million viewers and ranked as the network’s highest-rated original drama debut since the 2007 launch of Army Wives.
Given that the show has lined up guest stars such as Paula Abdul, Tim Gunn, and Rosie O’Donnell, Lifetime may have reason to keep celebrating. Popsquire will be watching Sunday nights. You should, too!
