It’s hard to admit, but celebrities can be more effective than lawyers and politicians in many situations.

[Bauer Griffin Online]
Hats off to George Clooney (he’s organizing a celebrity telethon for Haiti) and the Jolie-Pitts for donating $1 million to Doctors Without Borders.
Popsquire texted “Haiti” to 90999 for a Red Cross donation. Do what you can, Popsquire peeps!
PS: Heidi Montag should think about donating the cost of her People Magazine plastic surgery to Haiti. That could be the beginning of good karma, even for Speidi.

JOHNSON’S® Baby is kicking off its second annual Mother’s Day celebrity hand-me-down auction on eBay with items donated by Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Alba.

Gwyneth is donating a package of sessions with her personal trainer, Tracy Anderson, who is responsible for Gwyneth’s rockin’ bod. The goal is to help a new mom “get her body back,” and all auction proceeds will benefit charities for babies around the world. Click here to buy Gwyneth’s body…legally!
PS: Jessica is donating some very nice baby clothes and a limited edition MacLaren Juicy Couture stroller.

Gloria Allred is giving Nadya Suleman a lawsuit for Mother’s Day, but your mom probably deserves something better!

Consider donating $25 to SponsoraBirth.org in your mama’s name. For the cost of brunch, you can sponsor a clean, safe birth for a mother in Latin America or the Caribbean and give her newborn baby a healthy start. The organization even sends a card to inform your mom that you sponsored a birth in her honor for Mother’s Day.
