Angelina Jolieconfirms that she has replaced Tom Cruise in the upcoming spy thriller, Edwin A. Salt. Of course, Popsquire opined in August on CNN’s “Showbiz Tonight” that Angelina was definitely fit for the role…
It’s always great to start the workweek with a tough decision — Team Jolie or Team Aniston?! To help you decide, enjoy this debate in which Popsquire participated during Friday night’s episode of CNN’s “Showbiz Tonight.”
Brad Pitt showed up to a Los Angeles screening of his new film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, last night.
As usual, the paparazzi went wild, but so did Brad’s security guard! According to People, the plain-clothed guard grabbed, pushed and spun Brad around instead of dealing with the paparazzi directly.
Although HSM 3 brought in $15 million for the weekend and remained at the top of the box office, Angelina Jolie’s Changeling — a movie about kidnapping, police corruption, and justice — earned the most per theater for the weekend, with a total gross of $9.4 million. Popsquire followers must see this movie.
Because Popsquire followers (like you!) love when movies collide with the law, it’s time to schedule Angelina Jolie’s new film into this weekend’s plans. Changeling, which is based on actual events, is about a mother whose kidnapped child is returned. She soon realizes, however, that the child is not hers!

Because Popsquire followers (like you!) are planners, it’s time to schedule Angelina Jolie’s new film into this weekend’s plans. Changeling, which is based on actual events, is about a mother whose kidnapped child is returned. She soon realizes, however, that the child is not hers!
Watch below for an interview with Angie and director, Clint Eastwood.
While promoting her new film, the Changeling, Angelina Jolie tells Matt Lauer on Today that she intends to adopt more kids!
BTW, the Changeling represents a pop culture/law collision in and of itself. The film, which is based on actual events, is about a mother whose kidnapped child is returned. She soon realizes, however, that the child is not hers!
For today’s creepy collision between pop culture and law…
In addition to breast feeding on the cover of W Magazine, Angelina Jolie says she is passing down her fascination with knives to her seven-year-old son Maddox. “My mom took me to buy my first daggers when I was 11 or 12,” Angie says in the new issue of W magazine. “And I’ve already bought Maddox some.”
Popsquire recently surmised on CNN’s “Showbiz Tonight” that Angie simply could not make a bad publicity move. This just shows you that even lawyers can be wrong!

Angelina Jolie is expected to be breastfeeding on W Magazine’s November issue!
Although the pictures are not yet available, reports say that Angie will be in a sleeveless top opened to reveal part of her left breast and a tiny hand ostensibly belonging to one of the Brangelina twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline.
And, yes, this represents a pop culture/law collision…
Forty states have laws allowing women to breastfeed in any public or private location. Twenty-five states exempt breastfeeding from public indecency laws. Twenty-one stateshave laws related to breastfeeding in the workplace. And, five states have implemented or encouraged the development of a breastfeeding awareness education campaign.

Brad announced yesterday that he’s donating $100,000 to fight California’s Proposition 8, a November ballot initiative that aims to eliminate same-sex couples’ right to marry. Brad says:
“Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn’t harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8.”
The Jolie-Pitt Foundation has donated $2 million to the Global Health Committee to establish a center to aid children affected by tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia. The center will be named after Brangelina’s Ethopian born daughter, Zahara, and modeled after the Cambodian Health Committee’s Maddox Chivan Children’s Center in Cambodia, where children receive medical, education and social services.
The Jolie-Pitt Foundation began in Sept. 2006, when the couple donated $1 million to the Global Action for Children organization and $1 million to Doctors Without Borders.
Popsquire’s perspective…
Even charitable donations require legal work! Among other things, lawyers typically are involved in decisions about how the money can be used and the scope of the work to be performed by the center. Legal considerations also may play a role to the extent the center receives government funding and must comply with government rules and regulations.
For someone with so many convictions, it’s surprising that Angelina Jolie has not decided on a presidential candidate.
The humanitarian and actress issued this statement to Variety: “I have not decided on a candidate…I am waiting to see the commitments they will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world.”
Given the huge philosophical gap between the candidates, Popsquire doesn’t believe this for a second. Do you?
People Magazine is publishing pictures of the Brangelina twins, Knox and Vivienne, today! For an interesting discussion about why the magazine reportedly paid $14 million for them, check out Popsquire’s appearance on Friday’s episode of TV Guide’s “Hollywood 411.”
Dressed in camouflage, two paparazzi got into a physical altercation with Brangelina’s bodyguards last night outside the couple’s French chateau, according to MSNBC.
The paps somehow got onto the property and, along with the bodyguards, were taken in for questioning by French police after the scuffle. The police captain said both sides filed legal complaints accusing the other of battery and causing injury. She said she believed the injuries were bruises and scratches and “nothing nasty.”
Popsquire says…Brad and Angie better do everything they can to prevent the paps from getting the first pics. Those millions must go to charity!
