David Spade is a baby daddy!
David Spade is the father of a baby girl born last week in Missouri to Playboy Playmate Jillian Grace, the actor’s rep tells People. “David and Jillian have been in close contact throughout her pregnancy and he plans to go see the baby during his first break from shooting Rules of Engagement.”
Popsquire’s perspective…
Even though David and Jillian are not married, family laws require him to contribute money to the child’s upbringing. He and Jillian can work out an amicable deal outside the court system, or she can file a request for support. Even if they work out a private arrangement, it should be in writing!

Shiloh, Brangelina’s first DNA offspring, turns two today!
Popsquire Pop Quiz: When a child is born outside of the United States and out of wedlock, is she an American citizen?
Children born out of wedlock to a US citizen mother will be US citizens if the mother resided in the US for one year prior to the birth of the child. Children born out of wedlock to a US citizen father will acquire US citizenship if the following conditions are met:
- There is an established blood relationship between the father and the child;
- The father was a US citizen at the time of the birth;
- The father has agreed to financially support the child until it is 18; and
- Before the child is 18 it is legitimated, or the father acknowledges paternity in a document signed under oath
In celebration of Shiloh’s birthday and presumptive U.S. citizenship, sing along to Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby.” Sing!

Numerous media outlets claim that Ashlee Simpson is pregnant with Pete Wentz’s baby. If the reports are true, congrats! If not, they could constitute defamation. Defamation is any untrue published statement of fact that may harm a person’s reputation.
Realize, however, that defamation lawsuits brought by celebs can be difficult to win. Unlike regular folk, celebs generally have to meet a higher standard. Celebs have to prove that the alleged defamatory statement is false and was made with malicious intent, meaning that it was published with either knowledge of falsity or in reckless disregard for the truth.
Question: Which is more damaging to Ashlee’s reputation — lip syncing or being preggers? Talk to me — Papa Popsquire Don’t Preach!

According to People, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden welcomed a baby girl into the world today, naming her Harlow Winter Kate Madden. Four names for four seasons?
Popsquire’s perspective…
Popsquire is surprised to see that Nicole’s last name is nowhere to found in the baby’s name, particularly because Nicole and Joel are not married.
When a baby is born out of wedlock, it is advisable to have the baby daddy sign that birth certificate to provide evidence of paternity. Of course, Nicole has plenty of TV footage where Joel admits to being the father. That might work, too.
In honor of Harlow’s journey into this world, Popsquire dedicates this Guns ‘n’ Roses classic to her.

In celebration of one of the biggest years in out-of-wedlock celebrity pregnancies in history, it’s Baby Daddy Wednesday at Popsquire.com. And, the baby daddy of the hour is Eddie Murphy.
Unless you were under a rock this year, you likely know that Melanie Brown (Spice Girls and Dancing With The Stars) had Eddie Murphy’s baby. Eddie refused to acknowledge that he was the baby daddy, Mel B. took him to court and put him through a DNA paternity test. And, surprise, surprise, Eddie is the baby’s daddy.
Query: Was Eddie reluctant to acknowledge paternity becaue he didn’t want to pay child support or because he was embarrassed that he had sperminated a Spice Girl?

2007 was a huge year for the collision between pop culture and law. In celebration of this year, today — aka Hump Day — is Baby Daddy Day at Popsquire.
Below is our first video of the day that personifies this special year in review – Larry Birkhead’s announcement that he is Dannielynn’s father and that he “told [us] so.”
In today’s era of science and out-of-wedlock births, paternity cases are primarily resolved through DNA testing. Most courts find the results to be conclusive in resolving issues about who is the baby daddy.
Query: Do we think Anna Nicole knew who the father was?
