Update: Britney’s 5150 Hold Extended
Popsquire trusts you know that Britney Spears’ 5150 hold has been extended by 14 days. She will remain at UCLA unless the doctor releases her or she successfully contests the extension in court.
Of course, this doesn’t mean Britney is locked away without any rights. Instead, she maintains all of the following rights while on the 5150 hold:
- Religious freedom and practice;
- Participation in publicly supported education;
- To be free from abuse or neglect;
- Refusal of medications except in emergency situations where danger to life is present or by court order;
- To wear their own clothes;
- To have visitors;
- Access to private phone conversations;
- Ability to speak with a Patient’s Rights Advocate;
- To go outside for exercise and leisure (usually in a fenced area); and
- Access their money in amounts for small purchases.
In support of all patients looking to get better, Popsquire dedicates this Lisa Loeb hit, “Stay.”
