PTC vs. Britney
The Parents Television Council wants a piece of Britney Spears!

The PTC – the same organization that filed a complaint about Survivor contestant Marcus’ briefly exposed penis last year — is warning radio stations not to play Britney’s new single, If You Seek Amy. The organization believes it “would violate the broadcast indecency law” if aired between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Just say the song’s title very slowly a few times, and you’ll get it. However, the FCC typically has fined indecent broadcast programming only when it was so “pervasive as to amount to ’shock treatment’ for the audience.” Spelling out F-U-C-K-M-E (in case you didn’t get it on your own) likely doesn’t meet this standard, but some radio stations intend to play a cleaned-up version anyway.
Of course, now that the PTC is bringing attention to a song it doesn’t want anyone to hear, everyone will be thinking of (and likely singing) the original lyrics anyway. Smart strategy, PTC.
