Britney Has Rights While Being Evaluated

Although Britney may be undergoing a Section 5150 evaluation, it doesn’t mean she doesn’t have rights. Popsquire figured you might be interested to know that with the exception of being able to leave the facility freely, Section 5150 patients retain many rights, including the following:

Religious freedom and practice;

Participatation in publicly supported education;

To be free from abuse or neglect;

Refusal of medications except in emergency situations where danger to life is present or by court order;

To wear their own clothes;

To have visitors;

Access to private phone conversations;

Ability to speak with a Patient’s Rights Advocate;

To go outside for exercise and leisure (usually in a fenced area); and

Access their money in amounts for small purchases.
