  • 5150 Pop Culture Collision

In an effort to wish Britney well and move on to lighter material, Popsquire has done some research about Section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code.  Just like with everything else, Popsquire has uncovered a huge collision between pop culture and law.  Check it out…

    1. The inside cover of Van Halen’s 1986 album 5150 includes a photo where all the band members are in straitjackets.
    2. Eazy E’s album “5150: home 4 tha sick” displays the tagline: “Considered armed, dangerous & temporarily insane.
    3. Ice Cube’s song “Steal the Show” contains the lyric, “I just hope you ain’t 5150, that’s a crazy ho even though she pretty.”
    4. In the 2004 movie “Employee of the Month” starring Matt Dillon, the bus he gets off of is numbered 5150.

Feel free to submit other references to Section 5150!  In the meantime, enjoy this classic Van Halen performance…
