  • Howard K. Stern’s Attorney Delivers Strong Message To Attorney General Jerry Brown

Although Howard K. Stern was expected to plead not guilty this morning to felony charges that he and two psychiatrists were conspiring to furnish Anna Nicole Smith drugs in the years leading up to her death, the court continued the arraignment until May 13 so that all three defendants could appear at the same time.

This continuance, however, did not stop Stern’s attorney, Steve Sadow, from delivering a strongly worded message directed at Attorney General Jerry Brown.  In a statement to the press after the court hearing, Sadow began by emphasizing that Stern is innocent and loved Anna Nicole very much.

Then, he launched into a tirade against Brown, stating that the Attorney General should “be ashamed of himself” for calling Anna Nicole a drug addict and for sacrificing her medical privacy “to further his own political agenda.”

Sadow vowed to put an end to this “wrongful prosecution,” which he believes is being pursued “without due regard for compassion or justice.”  Sadow says that his client will put his trust in a jury, clearly indicating that Stern intends to fight this case until the end.
