TV Touched By The Law: American Idol
Popsquire considers American Idol to be his own private getaway. It typically provides Popsquire with an escape from the pop culture/law collisions that keep crashing around him and allows him to relax…but not last night!
If you didn’t watch, shame on you, but here’s what you need to know…
Enter Amy Davis, a hopeful contestant. Paula Abdul says, “you’re very pretty. What is your ethnic background?” Amy answers, “my grandmother on my mom’s side is Japanese.”
Popsquire is beside himself. Everyone knows it’s a big no-no ask people their ethnic, racial, or religious backgrounds in a job interview. Of course, some would say that the auditions are not job interviews. Let’s table that, though, because that issue is a whole other discussion.
Instead, Popsquire simply wants to point at Paula Abdul, perform some choreography, and sing “No, No, No,” by Destiny’s Child.
