American Idol To Change Rules
Like a typical lawyer, Popsquire doesn’t like surprise changes in rules.
For seven seasons, American Idol has worked the same way. On last night’s episode, however, Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell announced that tonight they will make a change to the show that “could alter the face of the competition” and may “change the entire theme and concept of the show.” What could it be? A few theories, which are pure speculation:
- Is Paula leaving mid-season?
- Will the judges have veto power over the public’s votes?
- Will there be more wild card additions?
- Will phone lines be open longer?
- Will we be voting for who should go home instead of who should stay?
