Ashton Kutcher Fights Against Sex Slavery
Ashton Kutcher goes from Punk’d to politics…
An incessant Twitterer, Ashton is encouraging his 200,000+ Twitter followers to help fight sex trafficking and exploitation of young girls. He recently met with the founder of GEMS, an organization with a mission to empower young women to exit the commercial sex industry and reach their full potential.
After the meeting, Ashton posted tweets stating that “sexual exploitation & trafficking is just modern day slavery & the pimps & traffickers R the slave owners” and “[t]here’s nothing cool about being a pimp. PImp = Slave Owner.”
He also called upon his followers to help pass the Safe Harbor For Exploited Children Act, a New York law that would stop exploited children from being prosecuted as criminals. Click here to sign the petition.
