Michael Kors To Duque It Out In Court
Michael Kors has a new gig…Project Lawsuit!
Tony Duquette, Inc. filed suit in a California federal court this week for trademark infringement, alleging that Kors marketed the Kors Resort Collection using the Duquette name and trademark without permission. The lawsuit alleges Kors used photographs, images and patterns from the “Tony Duquette” book, as well as images of Duquette in advertising and promoting the Kors collection.
Notably, Style.com reports that Kors announced, “It’s Babe [Paley] and Tony [Duquette]” at the presentation of the Kors Resort Collection last summer. If true, this is called an admission and definitely will be used against Kors in court. Popsquire smells a settlement!
