In celebration of her 39th birthday today, let’s take a trip down pop culture/law collision lane. Although generally squeaky clean, J-Lo has seen her fair share of the legal life. Here are a few examples…
- In 1999, J-Lo was arrested with P-Diddy after a NYC nightclub shooting. J-Lo was not charged with criminal conduct, but Diddy stood trial in 2001 and was acquitted of weapons charges and bribery.
- In June 2006, J-Lo sued ex-husband, Ojani Noa, to prevent publication of a tell-all book. She won a preliminary injunction against him, and the parties later entered a settlement.
- In June 2008, she was subpoenaed to testify in a $130 million civil lawsuit filed against Diddy over his involvement in the 1999 club shooting.
- In June 2008, a flight attendant filed a $5 million lawsuit, claiming that J-Lo’s dog chomped her leg on a plane trip two years ago.
- Of course, let’s not forget her many marriages/divorces!
