TV Touched By The Law: Brothers & Sisters
Sunday night’s episode of ABC’s hit drama, Brothers & Sisters, presents an important collision between pop culture and law. If you didn’t watch, you simply need to know that Kevin (the gay brother) asked his boyfriend (Scotty) to “marry” him.
Popsquire’s perspective…
Unfortunately, the use of the term “marry” or “marriage” does not apply to this couple, even in California. Instead, same sex couples in California have the right to enter a domestic partnership, not marriage. This status provides them with many — but not all — of the same rights that opposite sex marriages provide.

BTW, Popsquire apologizes for the one-day delay in blogging about this show, but there are only so many hours in a day to blog and watch TV. Give a Popsquire a break, please!
