  • Britney Spears vs. Paparazzi

Glued to the computer screen watching Britney’s trip to, around, and from the Los Angeles Superious Court inspired Popsquire to conduct further research into Britney’s rights.

    Popsquire’s perspective…

California has a so-called “anti-paparazzi statute.”  This statute generally stops paparazzi from trespassing on celebs’ property to obtain pictures or from using technology to get pictures without physically entering the property.  Given that all of the Britney coverage occurred on the open road, this statute likely does not offer her any protection.

California also has an “anti-stalking statute.”  However, a photographer is guilty of stalking only if s/he makes a “credible threat with the intent to place [Britney] in reasonable fear for [her] safety.”

Popsquire will continue to research on Brit’s behalf.  In the meantime, enjoy this Proclaimers’ video, which Popsquire believes must be TMZ’s theme song.
